The chartered appraiser takes part in a litigation context, in particular in the context of a divorce or separation, shareholder sharing, expropriation, division of assets, in the interest of a challenge against the Canada Revenue Agency or Revenu Québec and a challenge to the municipal assessment. Whatever the precise nature of its mandate in litigation, the chartered appraiser works with community stakeholders (lawyer, notary, accountant) to resolve each dispute in a fair and equitable manner.
